Fotios leads the overall strategy and business development at THIRA, bringing over 20 years of experience in investment management and trading. He has a proven track record of applying scientific methodologies to business, managing international teams, and delivering results for clients.
Throughout his career, Fotios has been entrusted with capital by multi-billion-dollar hedge funds, including WorldQuant, where he served as a Macro Asset Class expert Portfolio Manager, as well as FX Concepts—one of the largest and most established currency managers—and Jefferies’ QuantPORT. He has also held senior trading roles at major Wall Street proprietary trading desks, including Bank of America’s FICC desk and Credit Suisse’s equity market-making division.
Born and raised in Greece, Fotios holds five degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Toronto, and the University of Crete. His PhD research focused on mathematical modeling of time-series, incorporating fractals and extreme events.
He currently resides in Greenwich, Connecticut, with his wife and two children.
